This chapter provides a list of SNMP features that are new to a release of Enterprise Manager Grid Control. The chapter also provides a list of bugs that were fixed for a release.
The following are the bugs fixed for Enterprise Manager 10g Grid Control Release 4 (10.2.0.4).
Fixed Bug 5671082
You can now have SNMP Fetchlet convert the dataAndTime object value to TZ format for hex format, and upload it to the repository by appending the character 'D' with the corresponding OID in the querydescriptor definition.
Fixed Bug 5213784
You can now receive SNMP table variables through SNMP Receivelets.
Fixed Bug 5693411
You can now start the EMsubagent without having the sqlnet.ora file in the $TNS_ADMIN directory. In the past, EMsubagent was expecting sqlnet.ora to be in that directory in order to get started. This has been rectified to ensure that there are no dependencies between EMsubagent and sqlnet.ora.
The following are the bugs fixed for Enterprise Manager 10g Grid Control Release 3 (10.2.0.3).
Counter64 Data Type Support in SNMP Fetchlets
For Enterprise Manager Grid Control 10.2.0.2 and 10.2.0.1, you can only collect integer and string values from third-party, SNMP agents. This is because only SNMP version v1 is supported in the Fetchlet. Therefore, any integer value collected from the third-party, SNMP agent through SNMP v1 is accommodated in 32 bits.
For Enterprise Manager Grid Control 10.2.0.3 onwards, you can use counter64 data type objects in your Fetchlet to collect not only 32-bit integer and string values, but also 64-bit integer values.
The following are the bugs fixed for Enterprise Manager 10g Grid Control Release 2 (10.2.0.2).
Multi-Key Support in SNMP Receivelets
For Enterprise Manager Grid Control 10.2.0.1, SNMP Receivelet was allowing you to specify a single column as a key column.
From Enterprise Manager Grid Control 10.2.0.2 onwards, the SNMP Receivelet has been extended to allow you to specify multiple columns as keys.
