Oracle Auto Service Request (ASR) is designed to automatically request Oracle service when specific hardware faults occur. This chapter identifies the features and enhancements provided by Oracle Auto Service Request release 3.2.
Note:
Beginning with version 2.6, Oracle Auto Service Request requires upgrading to SASM 1.2.1. To download SASM, login to My Oracle Support (https://support.oracle.com) and see Document ID 1185493.1 for the latest software download links. The Oracle ASR Manager 3.2 software upgrade is quick to install and is available for download from http://oracle.com/asr
. All customers are urged to upgrade to this release at their earliest convenience.
Note:
Support for Oracle Auto Service Request is limited to the current release and the two previous releases. Oracle now supports ASR 3.1, 3.0, and 2.7. It is recommended that you upgrade to the latest version. See "Upgrade ASR" for more information. The Oracle Auto Service Request Release 3.2 contains the following enhancements and features:
E-mail reminders for Pending assets: Repeated e-mail send added for assets in Pending status. E-mail will be sent at time of asset activation. Reminders sent weekly for up to three weeks.
Multiple e-mail grouping: ASR e-mail communications for a given e-mail address that are the same type (for example, ASR Asset in Pending status) will be grouped into one. A ten-minute grouping timer is used.
ASR "No Heartbeat" updates: "No Heartbeat" e-mail notifications will now be sent for ASR Managers that have not checked in daily, even those that are not entitled in My Oracle Support. Additionally, any asset associated with an ASR Manager that has missed a daily heartbeat will now reflect "No Heartbeat" along with their associated ASR Manager asset (if it is entitled) in My Oracle Support.
Improved integration with My Oracle Support: My Oracle Support Release 5.3 includes features that improve Oracle ASR integration. For example, a new Message Center now includes notification when ASR Assets are awaiting approval (that is, in a Pending state). An improved asset management dashboard enables users to update multiple assets for an associated Support Identifier. For example, you can approve multiple ASR Assets that are pending. You can also update the address and contact information for multiple ASR Assets.
